Soooooo, one would wonder how the ambulance crew wrote up this AMA refusal form.

  • EMS Chick

I read that from fail blog then I got the email from our Council telling me what pt refusals are one of the indicators for this quarter. I kind of wanted to send them the story and ask how I should handle that

I’ve had all kinds of people, some who could have passed as animals, refused care, but what I’d like to see is the signature…..Thanks, I needed a laugh.

I am a paramedic trying to advance the idea that the Emergency Medical Services can be made into the profession that we all want it, need it, and know it deserves to be.

The Home Cook vs. the Professional Chef – What EMS Can Learn from Cooking
Cookbook medicine. The Medical Director of my Paramedic School...way back when...was fond of saying that. It was a term I took seriously, and wasn't afraid of branching away from those "recipes". I still take it seriously as a LPN, working geriatric dementia. Some people get stuck, or don't bother to utilize the critical thinking skills…

We kill/injure many more people (civilian and provider) in "emergency" responses than we save. We need a national standard dictating which cases and which…

The Home Cook vs. the Professional Chef – What EMS Can Learn from Cooking
I'm actually a professional chef and I always have a fun time explaining things such as the malliard reaction to my crew. I've been following your blog for years now and you always have fantastically written posts. Keep it up!
